November is a time to celebrate harvest. Sometimes we forget this. We forget that Thanksgiving is about thankfulness for having food to eat and people to share it with.
We get so caught up preparing for the Holidays that they end up feeling like another drain on our energy reserves, rather than a time to celebrate the beauty of life and everything we have achieved.
This year I want to challenge all the wonderful business owners out there to see things differently. Let's get back to the idea of Harvest. This time of year should truly be a celebration for us, where we reap the abundance of all our efforts throughout the year.
Are you with me?!
Maybe you're rolling your eyes right now, saying "I know that Erin!" But I'm willing to bet that your day-to-day life doesn't prove you know this. Even I have a hard time harvesting. I think of all the things I still need to do to "get ready" for holiday sales. I could retake some photos. Some of my product descriptions aren't as amazing as I would like. I don't have as many people on my email list as I thought I would, etc. etc. etc.
But let me tell it to you straight. It's too late for all that!
If you have something on your To Do list that's mandatory for successful holiday sales, DO IT TODAY. Otherwise, I need you to accept that you haven't done absolutely everything you could to prepare, but it's ok. That's life.
It's time to take what you have and celebrate it. Don't stay behind the scenes trying to catch up when you should really be out there telling everyone about the great products and services you DO have!
There are people out there who have watched you all year. They've loved what they've seen, and now they are in the mood to shop. They have friends and loved ones to buy gifts for. They've got a little extra spending money to buy a present for themselves. They want to spend their money on something beautiful, meaningful, and handmade. Tell them you're here! Tell them you're ready to make their holiday the best one yet!
BE SEEN! It's time to proclaim your sales. It's time to get your holiday graphics out there. It's time to celebrate the holidays with your friends, your family, and your customers.
So what if your ads, your website, or your packaging isn't perfect? You've worked hard to make a great product and it's time to reap that harvest!
Blessings to you and your family this Holiday Season,
