Sometimes I can be a little dense. Especially when it comes to things that should be SO obvious...
For example, I know that Differentiation (celebrating what is unique about me) is extremely important to building my Business Brand.
But I just recently realized how applicable that is to my PHYSICAL Brand. To the way I think about, portray, and celebrate the uniqueness of my physical body.
I hate the lack of self confidence so many women, including myself, experienced as kids and young adults. Many of us never grow out of that feeling of being "not good enough" or being an "ugly duckling." And believe me, I still have my moments of "I'm so ugly how can anyone love me?!"
Let's just say I've learned a lot throughout the years about accepting my body the way it is.
I went through a LONG phase of trying to be skinny, until I realized what a ridiculous pipe dream that was.
The I tried to develop a sense of curvy sexiness. But honestly, if you know me well, you realize I can't pull that off either. I grew up Presbyterian for goodness sake!
As I started rekindling my love for natural wellness, I began to relax my sense of style (literally) There is just no good reason to wear tight clothes every single day.
But I know I'll also never be a flowy, boho chic fashionista or a makeup-free, crunchy momma. I finally realized, I'm Just Me. And what I am (and what you are in your own unique way) is a complex human being with skinny days, sexy days, tom boy days, crunchy granola days, and all the other kind of days in between.
My personal brand doesn't have to be ONE of those things. It just has to be authentic. And I deeply want it to be positive!
So, this month, as we journey towards greater Digestive Wellness, let's remember this is not about reaching some long-desired, unattainable sense of perfection.
This is about becoming happier, healthier, and more positive women embracing our True Selves! Who's with me?!
