If you are wondering, why a Jewelry Designer and Essential Oil Advocate is spending an entire month educating on Digestive Wellness... let me explain. I've been on my own wellness journey for over 10 years now, and have tons of personal experience with poor digestion and how to improve my own body function naturally. It always amazes me when I start talking to someone about health, that we always end up on the topic of thyroid health or gut health. It seems like everyone is suffering from the SAME HEALTH ISSUES! 

So I decided to take a poll and ask y'all what you wanted to learn about next. Fatigue and Digestive Health tied for 1st place. We talked A LOT about Fatigue last month. [If you want to know more about Adrenal Fatigue, you can read my recent blog post here]

For the entire month of June, we'll focus on Digestive Health. I have so much to say on this topic, that I know there will be a lot of blog posts filled with tons of info, but for now I want to tell you about the month-long cleanse I'll be doing and how you can join me!


I'll be using, as a guide, the Maker's Diet by Jordan Rubin. I first bought his book and tried the diet in college to help out a friend who suffers from Ulcerative Colitis. She chickened out so I ended up doing the diet by myself (I still love her though!). Since then, I go back to this book anytime I feel bloated, sluggish, or just "off." It works every time! 

It looks like you can get a copy of his book for $10 or less on Amazon. That's the best way to understand the WHY behind this particular plan. But I'll do my best to describe it here too. In the Maker's Diet, Rubin chronicles his near death experience with Crohn's disease and his miraculous recovery using this very diet! His plan takes a Biblical approach to digestive health by studying the way the Hebrews ate in the Bible. Don't worry if that sounds a bit odd. He marries this biblical research with scientific research, explaining the importance of Probiotics and the issues with flouride, soy, grains, etc. WAY before anyone else had figured it out. Thanks to this book I started using probiotics in 2006. People thought I was crazy then, but I knew it made perfect sense, and that the rest of the world would figure it out eventually. 

This diet is based on a 6 week plan, with weeks 1-2 being the strictest, weeks 2-4 allowing a few additional foods, and weeks 5-6 (and beyond) teaching you how to sustain wellness through sticking to a healthy diet.
