Who wants to be happy, healthy, and creatively fulfilled?
Answer: NO ONE
Of course we all want these things for our life! The problem is that there is junk food, stress, and 9-5 jobs (plus a couple other part-time jobs if you live in NYC) that always seem to stand in the way.
So many things acting upon us, keeping us from having the life we truly desire.
That is until you say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I'm going to do whatever it takes to BE HAPPY, to regain my health, and to live a life that make me feel FULFILLED!"
This was me in 2015. You can read all about my health journey here. My emotional journey was equally as rough. As a perfectionist, it was nearly impossible for me to let go of a terrible marriage, even though I was the only one who still wanted it to work out.
These physical and emotional barriers totally blocked my ability to be creative in any sort of positive or fulfilling way. I was left at the end of every day, lying on my couch, crying from frustration and exhaustion, drinking 2+ glasses of wine to try to fall asleep.
IN the morning I would drag myself out of bed and REPEAT AD NASEUM.
Until one day I finally did the unthinkable. I left my marriage. Then I stepped down to fewer hours at my job. And then I started pouring every extra moment into CREATING for the first time in years.
To make a long and painful story shorter, I realized I had to take care of ME.
I am the essence of my creativity. I control how I feel and how my body functions, through decisions I make (or don't make) everyday.
I had to INTEND to feel better. I had to make plans for my happiness. I had to carve out space and time for my creativity.
Sometimes when I tell people about my passion for Intentional Living, I see their eyes roll back in their head... I see the words go across their mind, "Well, that will never happen for me. I don't have the time or energy for all that Intentionality. Besides my circumstances are totally different."
To that way of thinking I can only say, "You're right. You don't have time until you make time. You don't have energy because you are running around reacting to all the outside forces you allow to control your life. You're letting Netflix fill that creative void in your soul. YOU'RE ME IN 2015!"
But you truly don't have to be that person. All it takes are a few simple baby steps to get out of that awful hole.
- TAKE CONTROL by living within you Circle of Influence.
- DISCOVER YOUR PASSION and pursue it like your life depends upon it.
- FOCUS ON YOUR HEALTH and stop letting fatigue, depression, and pain stop you from living your dreams.
Take those first steps and come with me on the journey to a life full of Balance and Inspiration. Believe me, I'm not perfect. My life is far from perfect. But I'm finally headed somewhere I want to go.
